Due to a scheduling conflict, the Final Curtain Players performance of "Night of the Foolish Moon" has been canceled.

The National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a Powder Puff Football Game Thurs., April 26, at 4:30pm at Bear Stadium. Admission is $3/student and $5/adult. All benefits will go to Tucker Thomison.

The Democrats of Henderson County will meet Thurs., April 26, at 6pm, in the headquarters, 207 N. Palestine, Athens. Everyone is welcome.

The Chandler Elementary Spring Festival Blue Ribbon Backyard Extravaganza will be held Friday, April 27, 5pm- 8pm in the school's back yard. Attractions include Outback Steakhouse, inflatables, bounce house, bingo, lots of fun kid booths, and so much more. Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward the school's student activity fund.

Forest Grove Baptist Church of Chandler will host a 5th Sunday Singing, April 29 at 6pm. Local recording artist Tim Jones of Poynor will be the featured entertainment. Admission is free. A love offering will be taken. There will be a white elephant silent auction to benefit the church's hymnal fund. Everyone is invited to come and sing, bid on a white elephant item and enjoy the fun. The Moore Station&Larue AARP Chapt. 5345 will meet Tues., May 1, at the Antioch Baptist Church Cafeteria. Board of Directors meeting begins at 6pm followed by the regular meeting at 6:30. All members are encouraged to attend.

A Students vs Coaches Basketball Game to help raise funds for the Class of 2007 Senior Lock-in will be held Thurs., May 3, at 7pm in the Brownsboro High School gym. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

A Two Man Scramble Golf Tournament sponsored by Team Tucker will be held Sat., May 5, at the Echo Creek Country Club. Shotgun start at 9am. Cost is $50 single/ $100 per team. Cost includes green fee, cart, range balls and lunch. Mulligans will be available. The Tyler Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 932, meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at Traditions Restaurant, on South Broadway, at 1900 hours. "Brownsboro Remembered, " a history of Brownsboro written by Dottie Lewis is on sale at Piggy's Too for $15 per copy.

"Chandler - Its History and People" is now on sale for $25 at the Chandler Public Library. The book was published for the Chandler centennial in 1981 and has detailed histories of schools, churches and businesses as well as information about pioneer families of the area.
