Texas Xtreme crush ET Outlawz

Playing in Brownsboro on Saturday night the Texas Xtreme Semi-Pro football team protected Bear Stadium defeating the East Texas Outlawz 41-0.

The Xtreme (8-1) built a first quarter lead of 20-0 before taking a lead of 31-0 at the half.

In the second half of play the Xtreme introduced several new players to the game as well as let back-ups gain valuable playing time.

Despite missing three starters Coach Craig was pleased with his defense's performance. Terry Bonner, Jimmy Wade and Allen Beasley each had a fumble recovery in the win.

Beasley turned his recovery into the first touchdown of the season for the Xtreme defense.

The Outlawz were held to just 81 yards of total offense, 50 rushing and 31 passing.

They scored more than thirty points but Coach Anding was displeased with his teams offensive performance as they threw five interceptions and were sacked 8 time for a loss of 61 yards.

The offense also fumbled twice for a total of 7 turnovers in the game.

Eric Wren led the Xtreme in rushing with 101 yards on just 6 carries. Wren scored on a 49 yard run and threw for a touchdown to Brandon Thompson.

Thompson also passed for a touchdown as he connected with Johnny Morgan for a 61 yard strike.

In the rotating quarterback position for the Xtreme, Morgan connected on a 72 yard pass to Greg Lawson for a touchdown. Lawson then added a 40 yard touchdown pass to Marvin Hopkins.

Overall the Xtreme offense totaled 308 yards.

The Xtreme will be idle this week before traveling to Shreveport, LA on May 5 to take on the Port City Jaguars.
