Former BHS FFA member to speak at Ag Banquet The Brownsboro High School annual FFA banquet is set for Tuesday, May 8, at 6:30pm in the high school cafeteria. As in years past a delicious barbecue dinner with all the trimmings will be served. The purpose of the banquet is to honor the outstanding members of the organization. One of this year's highlights will be guest speaker former Brownsboro FFA member Phillip Smith, who graduated as the class of 2000 Valedictorian. While in high school Smith was FFA Chapter President, District President, and Area First Vice President. Smith also played basketball, baseball, football, and ran cross country. He received the academic medallion all four years in high school, as well as the Woodman of the World award. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and is in the Who's Who in FFA. After graduation he attended Texas A&M University, and is currently living and working in Austin for a Senator. "We are very excited to have Phillip come and speak at this year's banquet," said Derek Sims Agricultural Science Teacher. Mark your calendar for an enjoyable evening. |
