For the past several years, the Youth and College groups from Chandler First United Methodist Church have participated in In-State Missions through a group called U.M. Army, which stands for United Methodist Action Reach-out Missions by Youth.

They've traveled to Centerville, Madisonville, Porter, Deer Park, inner-city Houston, and this year, will be going to Lakewood, and Ore City, TX. On these trips, not only did they meet other believers their age willing to work for Christ, but they did such work as: scraping, painting, repairing siding, building porches and ramps, repairing flooring and other tasks like yard work and cleaning.

The exciting thing is, we have a U.M. Army group coming to our community this summer. This group will be comprised of youth and adults from League City and Galveston, TX areas.

They will be staying at Chandler-FUMC the week of July 15-21, 2007 and will be doing similar projects in the Chandler-Brownsboro, Edom, and lake community area, and they need our help. They Need Sites...Places to Help!!!

If you have a need personally, or know of someone who does, PLEASE contact Chandler FUMC immediately! The projects they can do are listed above, and basically consist of small projects that do NOT include electrical or plumbing or major renovations. They are working on a STRICT budget, and sites will be decided based on need, available materials and time.

You will need to either own the property or have the proprietor's permission, provide your name, address, phone number, trouble areas or needs, and be available for someone to come look at your property over the next month or so. This is an Amazing opportunity.

Please contact: Marla Frederick @ 903-849-6839, or P.O. Box 69, Chandler, TX 75758, or youthpyros@earthlink.net

If you have any questions, don't hestiate to ask. We need your help, and want to help you. God Bless!!!
