A Fish Fry sponsored by the Brownsboro Volunteer Fire Dept. will be held Sat., May 12, 11am to 2pm, at Faith Baptist Church, on Hwy. 31, next to the fire house. Donations are adults/$7 and children/$5. Donations of pies, cakes or cookies will be a great help.

The Brownsboro FFA Young Farmers are now taking orders for 8-10 pound cooked briskets for $37. Deadline to order briskets is Fri., May 11. All orders must be picked up between 9am and noon Sat., May 19, at the Ag barn on Hwy. 31. To order your brisket contact the Ag Dept. at 903-852-3794.

A Rabies Clinic fundraiser will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, on FM 314, south of Brownsboro, Sat., May 19, 10am-noon. Shots will be administered by Dr. James Gibbs, DVM, and are $8 each. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.

A Family Fun Day at the Park sponsored by the 1st United Methodist Church, in Chandler, will be held Sun., May 20, at Winchester Park beginning at noon. Come for a great day of fun with games, bounce house, snow cones, and more. Bring your own lunch. Drinks will be provided.

The Tyler Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 932, meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at Traditions Restaurant, on South Broadway, at 1900 hours. "Brownsboro Remembered, " a history of Brownsboro written by Dottie Lewis is on sale at Piggy's Too for $15 per copy.

"Chandler - Its History and People" is now on sale for $25 at the Chandler Public Library. The book was published for the Chandler centennial in 1981 and has detailed histories of schools, churches and businesses as well as information about pioneer families of the area.
