Karen Owens Duernberger

Services for Karen Elizabeth Owens Duernberger, 54, Athens were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home chapel, Athens.

Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens.

Mrs. Duernberger died May 4, 2007, at her residence.

She was born March 10, 1954, to Vernon and Edith Corley Owens. She grew up in Murchison and also lived in Whitehouse and Tyler prior to moving to Athens. She attended Henderson County Junior College, was a licensed vocational nurse and retired in 2003 from Oakbrook Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Owens; husband, Don Duernberger; and brother, Billy Owens.

Survivors include son, Aaron Robert "Bobby" Arthur, Athens; daughter, Nomie Rebecca Storms, Mineola; brother, Mickey Owens, Brookland; sisters, Jan Masters, Ann Newbill and Tami Mason, all of Murchison; and one granddaughter..
