Frances S. Oglesby

Services for Frances S. Oglesby, 87, Chandler, were held at 11 a.m. Friday at West Lake Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Peyton officiating.

Burial was in Chandler Memorial Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oglesby died April 30, 2007, in Fort Worth. She was born June 17, 1919, in Plain, Miss., to the late Rev. and Mrs. B.T. Smith. She attended Mississippi State College for Women, and moved to Garland in 1961.

She was a member of Garland's First Baptist Church, was active in Twentieth Century Study Club and helped develop Galaxy Home for homeless girls. After retirement, she moved to the Lake Palestine area and joined West Lake Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Oglesby.

Survivors include her children, John Oglesby, Destin, Fla., Linda Harman, Fort Worth, and Lonnie Oglesby, Glen Rose; and two grandchildren.
