Amanda Tompkins graduates DBU
Amanda also interned at Buckner Children's Home in the International Adoptions Department. Amanda has a heart for service and spent many hours volunteering at Buckner Children's Home; Jonathan's Place Children's Shelter; Chambrel Nursing Home; and Casa View Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Leader; and for one semester as a Greek teacher to a group of homeschool students. Amanda trained and served as a Teen Counselor during the 2003 Billy Graham Crusade and serves as a Disciple Now Teen Leader each year. Our prayer for our daughter has been that she would use her life for God's glory and make choices that strengthen His kingdom. We are very proud of Amanda's excellent grades and other accomplishments, but we are most thankful for the many teenagers she led to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Four years ago she chose Philippians 4:8 as her life verse, we are grateful that she has focused on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. She has been a blessing to our family and an excellent role model for her siblings; Bradley Kent, Joshua Jack Worth, Rebecca Lelia and Hannah Jane, as she continues to honor God with her life. Amanda, currently employed as a nanny in Dallas, plans to pursue her Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling. |
