Texas Xtreme fall in Lousiana, 28-17 The trip across the Texas border did not prove beneficial for the Texas Xtreme as they fell to the hands of the Port City Jaguars 28-17 on Saturday. Xtreme coaches Larry Anding and Gary Craig stated it was the worst first half of play in the history of the franchise. Port City built a 22-0 by the second quarter before the Xtreme nailed a 35 yard field goal before the half. The 22 first half points matched the season high for points allowed in an entire game by the Xtreme. Trailing 22-3 the Xtreme rallied in the second half outscoring the Jaguars 14-6. Several players could not make the trip to Louisiana, including four defensive starters and the starting quarterback. Texas totaled 180 yards of offense with 140 coming through the air on 11 completions. Marvin Hopkins led the Xtreme in receiving yards with 57 on 3 catches. Port City totaled 294 yards of offense, 220 coming in the first half. Defensive standouts with one interception a piece for the Xtreme include; Chris Jacinto, Dontay Richardson and Lontario Osborne. Falling to 8-2 on the season the Xtreme will return home this Saturday to host the East Texas Outlawz in Brownsboro. Game time is 7:00pm. For the sixth consecutive season the Xtreme earned a playoff berth. The first round of the playoffs will be May 19.
