St. Boniface Catholic Church
by Sue Beams

On the Sixth Sunday of Easter, members of St. Boniface gathered to learn of the first Council of the Church. In his homily, Fr. Jesse pointed out the three common denominators in the readings of the day. First, we are called to a Christian Spirit: to be of one mind with other Christians. Secondly, we are called to do all things in the Spirit; through our Baptism we earn a place in the kingdom of God. And third, we are called to work with the Spirit of Christ; practice the Fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Modesty, Self-Control, and Chastity. Fr. Jesse challenged us to reflect upon these things: "He" (the Holy Spirit), "me" (the newly created human spirit), and "us" (by the Power of the Holy Spirit), we are to answer His call.

Fr. Jesse recognized the "Moms" of our parish by offering the Mass for us and presenting

us with flowers. We appreciate

your kindness in remembering the day set aside to honor our Mothers, Fr. Jesse.

Immediately following Mass, once again the Moms were presented roses by the Youth. Thank you so very much. Refreshments were enjoyed and we welcomed visitors over a cup of coffee.

There is still an urgent need for an organist to play at the Saturday evening Mass. Please contact Carol Proudfit at 903- 849-3049 for information.

If you would like to contact Fr. Jesse personally, he can be reached at Fr.jesse @gmail.com. His new cell number is 903-285-1070.

Fr. Jesse has called a specail meeting of the Pastoral Council. This opportunity will be beneficial to both Fr. Jesse and members of the Council.

Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Remember in prayer those who are sick and suffering. Continue to pray for the faithful departed. We ask you to remember in prayer, too, those brave men and women serving in the armed forces to protect and serve us and this great nation.

Have a wonderful week! God bless you all!
