St. Boniface Catholic Church On the Seventh Sunday of Easter, members of St. Boniface commemorated the Ascension of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Holy Catholic Church includes the Ascension in the Liturgical calendar to make clear the necessity of discipleship. In the 40 days between the Resurrection and His Ascension, Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God. Our Blessed hope of Eternal Life does not rest in the world. The Ascension began the divine ministry of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the True High Priest, seated at the right hand of the Father. He is the Mediator between God and man. His presence continues to be with us in the Tabernacles of the Catholic Church. We anticipate great joy in celebrating the Holy Eucharist; worshiping God in Spirit and in Faith. We welcome all visitors and hope to see you again ... and often. Refreshments were served following Mass. A reminder to those ladies who are signed up to bake: The baking schedule is posted on the bulletin board in the community center for July through December. Please make arrangements for your turn to be covered if, for any reason, you are unable to bake. Also, please remember to provide at least 1 gallon of juice along with your baked goods. Please consult your bulletin for the open letter to parishioners from Fr. Jesse. He makes ten very good points in regards to the parish community. It is by coming together and working together that we will make St. Boniface into the kind of Parish it is meant to be. If you wish to contact Fr. Jesse, he invites you to email him at Fr.jesse@gmail.com or call him on his cell, 903-285- 1070. He is anxious to meet with committees and individuals to get to know us a little better and to let us know a little more about him and his vision for St. Boniface. The Altar Society held the last meeting until fall. Members met at San Pedro's for dinner. Though we were small in number, we are big in heart! These ladies are the backbone of the parish and are greatly appreciated. There have been many obstacles in our path, but through the grace of God we are still together, functioning for the good of St. Boniface. Our St. Boniface Church picnic will be held June 9, 2007, at Kay Chavez' home beginning at 10am and lasting until 3pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the community center. The church will provide the meat, and Kay is supplying desserts. Those families attending should plan to bring a covered dish to share. This promises to be a good time, so bring your lawn chairs and join us for an afternoon of fellowship, food and fun! Congratulations and best wishes to those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries! We pray for those who are sick and suffering. Remember the faithful departed; may they rest in peace. We continue to pray for the men and women in the armed services who are far from home and family, defending our freedom. May God bless and keep them in His care. Have a wonderful week! |
