What's Happening The Chandler Lions Club is seeking names of military personnel from the BISD that are presently serving in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The purpose of this request is so the Chandler Lions Club can send letters and/or care packages to show how proud we are of their dedication and love of our country. Plates are $7/ adults, and $5/children under 12. Eat in or take out. The City of Brownsboro will hold a city wide clean-up on Saturday, June 2, from 7amnoon. Dumpsters will be made available in the vacant lot next to the Southern Maid Donut shop on State Hwy. 31, in downtown Brownsboro. Ike Johnson will be held Sun., June 3, beginning at 11am with a morning service, and a noon potluck lunch on the grounds. The Chandler Cemetery Assoc. Annual Meeting will be held Sun., June 3, at the Chandler Community Center. Lunch will be served at 12:30pm followed by a short business meeting. The Chandler Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 5th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Sat., June 16, at the Echo Creek Country Club, on FM 317, to provide a $1,000 college scholarship to a BHS graduating senior. Lunch will be served at 11:30am, with a shot gun start at 1pm. Teams consist of 4 players, $50 per player, or $200 per team. $5 per Mulligan (limit 4 per team) Hole sponsorships are available for area businesses. The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend. The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. A covered dish meal is served at 6:30pm with the meeting to follow. All members and prospective members are urged to attend.
