Faye Douglas

Services for Faye Douglas, 87, Murchison, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.

Burial was be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Douglas died May 17, 2007 in Tyler. She was born Nov. 19, 1919, in the Blackjack Community to James and Josephine Cantrell Skaggs.

She was a 1936 graduate of Brownsboro High School and earned a licensed vocational nurse's degree and surgical nurse's degree from Henderson County Junior College. She retired from Henderson County Memorial Hospital with more than 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Murchison, and had lived in Henderson County most of her life.

She was preceded in death by husband, Melvin Douglas, in 1999; grandson, Christopher Moffeit; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Moffeit; brother, Vernon Skaggs; and sisters, Lucille Brown and Zephyr Donehoo.

Survivors include son, Gary Douglas, Montalba; daughters, Judy Moffeit, Brownsboro, Ann Sims, Oviedo, Fla., and Linda Ruble, Daphne, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kyle Braswell, Charlie Falco, Chad Sorrell, Jeff Douglas, Zachary Kennedy, Brad Kennedy, Brent Kennedy and Lee Kennedy.

Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, 75219.
