Vacation Bible School: You're invited to an exciting VBS week at WLBC which starts Monday, June 4th and goes through Friday, June 8th. It will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. All children who have completed kindergarten through the 6th grade are invited to attend. There is no pre-registration required -- just come to the worship center on the first morning and we'll be happy to assist and direct you. A snack will be provided each day, and vans are available for those requiring transportation. Please call the church office at 903-849-6042. VBS rocks! We hope you'll join us for a great week.

Memorial Day Sunday: What a great Memorial Day service Sunday!! God blessed with an amazing crowd, a wonderful spirit, and great music (many thanks to the instrumental ensemble, praise team, soloist and choir). During the service all Veterans were recognized and a video tribute was shown. We all want to express our thanks and appreciation to the many guests who were present. You were a blessing. And we appreciate Billy McLean for leading our worship in Bro. Keith Davis's absence.

West Lake Food Bank: The Mission West Lake Food Bank operated by WLBC will be open on Wednesday, June 13 from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Youth Camp is June 18-22 at Pineywoods Encampment. Contact Marc Nichelson for further information. There is still space available.

Softball: The summer season starts June 10th. The WLBC men's team won 1st place in the spring season.

Men's Breakfast will be Saturday, June 2nd at 8:00 a.m.

Celebrate Recovery meets on Tuesday nights at 7:30. This confidential recovery program is offered without cost to members of the community.

RAs will meet on June 10th at 5:00 p.m. to finish their cars for the upcoming derby race. There will be a pizza party for the RAs, GAs and Mission Friends on June 24 at 4:00 in the fellowship hall.

"Is the God of Islam the God of the Bible?" In this continuing Sunday evening sermon series, the following questions were answered and explored: "What accounts for the references in the Koran to the Bible?"; "What shaped the Islamic view of Christ? Was Mohammad influenced by Christianity in some way?" The pastor explained 5 prevelant factors which shaped this inaccurate view of scripture and the gospel, and concluded with a practical three-point scriptural plea for all Christians.
