Union Hill Baptist News
by Mickie Bigbie

The service Sunday morning provided a stirring salute to the men and women who serve our country, to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and to those young men and women just entering into the armed forces of our country. Matt Brown, himself on his way to basic training today, summed it all up with the presentation of the song "The Other Little Soldier." To Matt, Bubba and all the other young adults out there who have made the same choice, our prayers are with you as you walk your new path. Remember, wherever you are and whatever your circumstances, you are never alone.

Coming up this week, beginning May 31st and going through June 2nd, our Wheels of Mercy will be participating in the "Go-Ye- Run." We pray, too, that the Lord will protect you and guide you as you travel the roads and are given the opportunity to witness for Him.

It's nearly time for Vacation Bible School. Ms. Diana and the Church family have been working hard, getting the water-park adventure ready for the kids. From June 10th through June 14th, 6:30-9:00 p.m. each day, the young people will learn how Jesus used water to change lives throughout the Bible. This will be an experience of a lifetime for the kids. Remember, if you plan to have contact with children during VBS you must attend one of the training sessions, to be held June 3rd, 4:45 p.m. or June 5th, 7:00 p.m. If you have any questions, you may contact Diana Morris.

Also for the kids, 3rd grade through 6th grade, Pre-Teen Camp is coming up June 19-22. The kids are expected to have an awesome time at Daniel Springs Camp. You may call the church for further information, 903-852-5043.

We appreciate the visitors we had Sunday. Please come again. For those of you out there, looking for a church, our Sunmday School meets at 10:00 on Sunday with the mornig worship beginning at 11:00, and an evening service at 6:00. We also have a Wednesday evening service at 7:00, with Family Fellowship on the last Wednesday evening of the month. Brother Bill reminded us during the service Sunday morning, that if we have plans that do not include God, then we're working on the wrong plan! So whatever your plan, wherever you go, whomever you go with, remember to include Him .. it works out so much better!

I'll say bye for now, will be out for a couple of weeks and during that time, I'll miss our visits, but keep in mind there's lots of God's children just waiting to see you up on the hill.
