Scholarship Golf Tourney deadline approaches

It's time once again to get your golf game `up to par' for the annual Chandler- Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship golf tournament. This year's tournament is slated for Saturday, June 16, and will be held at Echo Creek Country Club.

Proceeds from CBACC's tournament go toward scholarships for Brownsboro High School seniors, with this year 's scholarships going to Jill Bragdon and Draper Foster. Money raised from the June 16 event will be used for our 2008 scholarship recipients.

This year's tournament promises to be bigger and better than ever.

"Our goal is to have at least 10 teams and 36 hole sponsors," said CBACC tournament chair, Dana Becton. "With the increased number of teams and sponsors +

we will be able to offer more scholarships, " she added.

The day will begin with lunch being served at 11:30 a.m. (which is included with team sponsorship) and a shot-gun start will kick off the tourney at 1:00 p.m. Entry fee per team is $200 (or $50/player if you have singles who would like to be placed on a team).

First and second place teams, along with `closest to the hole' will be awarded cash prizes. The third place team and `longest drive' will be awarded merchandise prizes. Drawings will be held for door prizes donated by area businesses.

"It's a great opportunity for businesses in the Chandler-Brownsboro-Murchison area to advertise and get their name out there and support our kids at the same time," said Becton.
