14-AAA All-District Team announced

The 14-AAA All-District softball team was recently released and Danica Edwards brought home a surperlative award for Brownsboro.

Edwards was named the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year, she was the starting centerfielder for the Bearettes. Edwards stole 21 bases during the 2007 season, including the one pictured above against Bullard.

Senior Morgan McGill earned Co-First Team All-District honors at third base. McGill will continue playing softball in college with Lon Morris.

Five Bearettes earned honorable mention, they were; Randi Smith, SS; Krystin Groothuis, P; Lacy Wilkerson, C; Ashley Costlow, OF and Stefani Vause, 1B.

Earning Academic All-District was Danica Edwards, Morgan McGill, Stefani Vause, Krystin Groothuis and Randi Smith.

The Bearettes were coached by James Croley and will return all the Honorable Mention players to next years team. Four players earned Honorable Mention as Sophomores.

Van's Trish Crocker took home the MVP award, Holly Eckert of Athens won the Offensive Player award. Newcomer award went to Erin Kipp of Bullard. Coach Braly of Van was coach of the year.
