Faith Baptist Chandler
by Melva Allison

We had a great Memorial Day service on May 27. The choir sang a special rendition of America the Beautiful, as well as leading the congregation in singing God Bless America. A table of honor showing pictures of members of our church family who were veterans or who are currently serving in the armed forces was displayed, and a heartwarming multi-media presentation of the veterans was shown.

Bill Mays, one of our veterans, presented the American flag as the congregation repeated the Pledge of Allegiance. Several veterans were present. Thanks to Maxine Barnes, Andy and Gina Tucker, and Bro. David and Becky Darst for preparing the event, and a very special thank you to all the veterans who had a part in making and keeping America a free nation.

Last week the highlight of the morning worship service was the baptism of two of our young girls - Amanda Swofford and Emma DeHerrera. It is always a blessing to see young children come to know the Lord as Savior.

Next Sunday, June 10, the youth will be serving barbecue and all the fixins' for lunch after the morning service. Please make plans to attend and support our youth as they raise money for youth camp in July.

The Top of the Hill Gang will have lunch at Lake Athens Marina Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. on June 8.

Beginning June 7, there will be a ladies prayer time on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Casserole Care will meet Monday, June 11, for dinner and to prepare meals for those who are sick.

A wedding shower was held for Courtney Allison and Chris Douzart Sunday afternoon. They received many nice gifts. Their wedding will be Friday afternoon, June 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony. All friends are invited to attend.

Several individuals enjoyed the monthly dinner and game night Friday night. They always have a great time. Come join them on the first Friday night of each month at 6:00.

Vacation Bible School will be here soon. Mark your calendars and bring your children. Vacation Bible School will be held July 8-12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights, with a meal served each night.

Also, our youth will be attending camp in Glorietta, New Mexico, in July. Let's continue to keep them in our prayers.

The church has a new website that is currently under construction. Check it at www.walkfaithfully.com.
