Vacation Bible School - We had a record breaking start to VBS this week! (June 4-8, from 8:30-11:30, Monday - Friday.) Thanks so very much for sending your children. Children who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend. Snacks are provided each day, and two church vans will provide transportation each day (by request). You are invited to join us for an exciting week. If you have any questions or we can be of help in any way, please contact us. And thanks again for being our guest.

Youth Girl/Guys Night Out: June 8-9. The Girls Night Out will be held Friday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the home of Don and Lisa Veatch. The all-night event will include guest speakers. The Guys Night Out will be held at Camp Jericho on Friday, and will also feature guest speakers, food and fellowship.

First Place: The Men's Softball Team which won first place in the spring division was recognized in the morning service, as well as the Co-Ed Team. We appreciate our coach David Nichols for his leadership. WLBC will have 3 teams during the summer. The summer season starts June 10th.

Mission West Lake Food Bank will be open on Wednesday, June 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This date has been changed by one week to accommodate the VBS schedule.

Celebrate Recovery: Meets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. This confidential Christ-based recovery program is offered without cost to members of the community.

"Heroes" - This new Wednesday night sermon teaching series includes a verse by verse study of Hebrews Chapter 11.

Flowers: The 50 yellow roses in the worship center were given in honor of Bill and Carolyn Dunn's 50th wedding anniversary.

"Is the God of Islam the God of the Bible?" Sunday evening was Part 3 of this continuing teaching series by the pastor. Part 3 included a discussion of the development of the Koran as contrasted with the Bible with an emphasis on the extrabiblical sources noted in Koran (Stories from Approcraphal Sources, the Jewish Targum, Egyptian Sources, etc.).

Back to School Bash - The annual WLBC event is scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd at 3:00 p.m. (Labor Day weekend, the first weekend after school begins.) Mark your calendar, and plan to attend this annual high-energy event that is open to the community.
