St. Boniface Catholic Church
by Sue Beams

The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit! June 3rd was the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Through faith in Christ the work of the Holy Spirit brings us the peace of God. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are united in a circle of unending love and glory. The Trinity express God's love and is the model of love that we should imitate.

On Saturday, Iris Mamo and I attended the Leadership Formation Seminar, "To Lead as Jesus Did," at the Cathedral Center in Tyler. The full day session was interesting, enlightening, informative, and full of the Spirit! Through the four pillars of integral formation, Human, Spiritual, Intellectual and Apostolate, those attending learned how to consciously live as one who is called to follow Christ. There will be a second part of this seminar in November.

The feast of St. Boniface is Tuesday, June 5. Mass will be celebrated at 6pm.

The daily Mass schedule is as follows: Tuesday - 6pm; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 9am. Please join in the celebration of the Eucharist often.

Thursday is the anniversary date of St. Boniface's new building. It has been 9 years since the first Mass was celebrated in the current church.

St Boniface is in need of Lectors, Altar Servers, and Announcers. Please contact Fr. Jess for more information about this very important ministry. Also, please search your hearts and pray about becoming a teacher of Faith Formation in the fall. Our Youth are the future of the church. We are in need of faithful leaders. Please contact Fr. Jesse or Iris Mamo for information.

Our parish picnic will be Saturday, June 9 from 10m until 3pm at the home of Kay Chavez. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share, your lawn chairs, and favorite refreshment. The meat will be furnished by the church and Kay is providing the desserts. We are looking forward to seeing you there! Anyone interested in lending a helping hand to set up the tables and tents on Friday should call Kay at 903-852- 7814.

There will be a showing of the DVD Eucharistic Miracles following the Mass on June 9 and 10. Please make plans to attend.

Members of St. Boniface express their heartfelt sympathies to Bishop Corrada in the loss of his beloved mother. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.

Congratulations and best wishes to all who celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Please pray for those who are sick and suffering. Remember in prayer those brave men and women who are serving in the Armed Services, protecting us and guarding our freedom.

May God bless each of you this week, and always.
