Lyn Jackson

Lauralyn Gail Jackson passed away May 26, 2007, in a Houston hospital. Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Pete Chapman officiating. Burial followed in Red Hill Cemetery.

She was born June 29, 1956 in Athens to John Ward and Jerie Barton Jackson. She always thought of others first and enjoyed reading, painting, word games, calligraphy and taking care of her family.

She formerly lived in Henderson and Smith counties and had resided in Fort Worth the past 20 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Lewis and Mary Katherine Hatton Barton and Earl and Velma Jackson; aunt, Shirley Barton Wood; cousins, Christy Wood Jenkins and Dr. James Clifford Wood, and stepfather, Earl Shackelford.

She is survived by her mother, Jerie Shackelford of Fort Worth; father, Ward Jackson of Gladewater; and brothers, Greg Jackson of Brownsboro, David Jackson and wife Kimberly of Gulfport, Miss., and Danny Jackson of Arlington; nieces and nephews, John Clark Jackson and Gregory Jackson, both of Arlington, Everett Earl Jackson with the U.S. Army in Fairbanks, Alaska, Chrissy Bamberg Hawkins, Pac Jackson and Luke Jackson, both of Gulfport, Miss., and Victoria Jackson and Vianny Jackson, both of Tyler; great nephews and great-nieces, Jackson Bamberg of Mineola, Nathaniel Jackson of Jacksonville and Raven Jackson of Van; uncles, Tilmer Jackson and wife Vivian of Tyler and Chester Jackson and wife Wanda of Brownsboro; and aunts, Merle Dixon of Tyler, Joyce Mick and husband Larry of Bedford and Jean Robertson and husband Billy Joe of Malakoff.

Pallbearers included Arlon Dixon, Ronny Dixon, Keith Robertson, Tommy Jackson, Mack Hatton, Marlin Pittman, Rickey Crawford and Guy Restivo.

Honorary pallbearers were Marty Martinez, E.G. Malloy, Noel Stewart and Terry Moffeit.
