Summer sports camps ready for action

Are your kids driving you up the wall yet? Do your kids need something fun and exciting to do this summer?

If you answered yes to either of these questions the coaches of Brownsboro High School will become your best friends.

Throughout the month of June there are summer sports camps nearly every week!

The Bear Football camp began on Tuesday and will conclude on Friday with various competitions.

Up next on the camp schedule is the Boys Basketball camp as well as the Girls Softball camp.

Both camps begin on Monday, June 11 at 8:00am. Registration is encouraged to be done before the start of camp but walk-ups are welcome.

Jeff Hutchins will be the director of the basketball camp that will conclude on Friday at 11:30am. James Croley will head up the softball camp that ends on Thursday, June 14 at 11:30am.

Each camp is $35 per student and are open to students ages 7-14 or going into the second grade. Students must be 7 by September 1.

Due to UIL rules no student entering the 10th grade in August 2007 can attend the camp.

Students attending the basketball camp will be given a camp t-shirt, a lunch pack and a men's regulation basketball. Those attending the softball camp will receive a softball, a lunch cooler and a camp tshirt.

All players will be covered by accidental insurance and there will be an Athletic trainer if needed.

For a camp registration form stop by the Statesman office or go online to www.brownsboro.k12.tx.us and click on the summer camp link under the organizations tab. From there choose the camp your student desires.

Following the above mentioned camps Coach Fred Griffin will host his annual Bearette Basketball camp. Details are on the registration form next to this article.

A copy of the registration form can also be found online at the above mentioned website.

The final week of July there will be a volleyball camp all the details can be found online.

Parents, there is no better way to ensure your child proper sports training than by sending them to one of the above mentioned camps.

Several star Brownsboro athletes attended the summer camps while children and learned valuable lessons they carried into their high school and college sports careers.

Just think, your child gets to participate in camp at least 4 days in one week, hang out with other kids their age for less than the price of a one day ticket to Six Flags Over Texas. What a deal!

Sign your child up now for a Brownsboro sports summer camp, you will be glad you did.
