Union Hill Baptist News

You will all be able to tell very quickly this is not the pen of Mickey Bigbie.

A week ago our Ms. Mickey had a very serious foot surgery. While recovering this past week at home with her son Scooter and her sidekick, Mary Voyles, all was going good until Saturday about 3:00. Scooter had left for home. Mary was fixing a snack and Ms. Mickey very calmy and authoritively told Mary to dial 911. She was having a heart attack.

Now Mary, being the Brownsboro "Citizen of the Year" went into action! She quickly grabbed the remote control and pushed 911 -- only to her dismay, it would not ring! Again Ms. Mickey said, "Mary, you have to use the phone!"

Well, 911 responded quickly. She was having "a heart attack." They picked up a Brownsboro volunteer fireman to drive the ambulance while the 2 paramedics could stabalize Ms. Mickey. Mary rode shotgun!

Going through Chandler, Mary spotted the Masters and Austin family at the intersection. She quickly rolled down the window and started to wave for them to follow to Tyler. They were going the wrong direction!

Ms. Mickey was stabilized within a few hours and was to be admitted to stay a few days. They were anxious to place her in a room because she had a constant flow of visitors from UHBC -- her family!

Now, this is one special lady! She is loved by everyone! I personally call her Mrs. Texas. I thought she and her late husband James were "The Texas Couple" -- could be on the cover of any Texas magazine!

On Sunday they realized Ms. Mickey's condition was not as serious as first thought and Mary left the hospital to go get something to eat. After eating her hamburger she noticed she had mustard all down her blouse. Well, Mary could NOT go into the hospital like that, so she told her son, Kendall and his beloved Misty to turn their heads; she was going to change right there in the car. Now, mind you this is our Citizen of the Year! We are now in the process of acquiring the hospital security tape. Pictures to follow soon!

Our church has so much going on! To update you on a few things: Bro. Bill took a vacation to spend time with his grandson, Luke Edwards. Matthew Brown left for the Air Force. Adam Newell returned to his unit at Ft. Drum, NY. Bubba Nugent leaves for the Air Force tomorrow. We had a great time at our ice cream social Sunday night and are looking forward to a great week.

As Ms. Mickey always ends her column, "See you on the Hill!"

We love you Mickey, and get well soon!
