VBS Family Fun Fest: there were nearly 300 in attendance Sunday night as VBS concluded with the Fun Fest which featured hot dogs, popcorn, drinks, games, inflatable bounce house, prizes etc. (Many thanks to the West Lake Volunteer Fire Department for their display.) During the church service, the parents enjoyed VBS a "STOMPS" musical presentation by the kids which they learned during the week. We are grateful for a recordbreaking week of VBS and great spirit, tremendous workers, and terrific kids. And we are very appreciative to all parents and gaurdians who sent your kids our way. Thanks for being a part of a great week!

GABC Orchestrata: The orchestrata from Green Acres Baptist Church will be in concert at WLBC on Sunday, June 24th at 6:30 p.m. The orcherstra, under the direction of Matt Robb, will feature contemporary Chrisitan musical favorites as well as tradtional and southern gospel classics. You don't want to miss this exciting worship opportunity.

WLBC Food Bank: the Mission West Lake Food Bank will be open Wednesday, June 13th from 10:00 a.m -2:00 pm. The time was adjusted by one week due to VBS.

Father's Day: This Sunday we will announce the 2007 recepient of the annual Father of The Year Award . Past recepients include, Herb Richardson, David Nichols, Darren McCawley, and Neilon Cotten. All father's present on Father's Day will be recognized and presented with a special gift.

Youth News: This past Friday p.m.-the Girls Night Out was held at the Veatch's and the Guys Night Out was held at camp Jericho. Thursday night was Ultimate Frisbee night at the church. Youth Camp will be held June 18-27 at Pineywoods Encampment.

Softball: Summer softball starts June18th. WLBC will have 3 teams. The Men's Team won first place during the spring season. Contact coach David Nichols for more information

Celebrate Recovery: meets Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. This is a Christ based recovery program offered to the community confidentially and without cost by WLBC.

Meeting Notes: Prayer Grams will meet at 9:30 Tuesday; the Grace Class will meet Monday June 11th at 11:30 at the home of Margaret Council.

"Heroes": What does it take to be a hero? Though `Heroes " is the subject of a popular TV program, and the term is used often in today's culture, the definition of the term today has less to do with noteworthiness of character & morals and more to do with momentary fame (that is often achieved by some not so commendable means). In this Wednesday verse by verse teaching of Hebrews 11, by the pastor, we'll explore the biblical definition of makes a true hero.

Heroes....Wednesday evening series, ` Heroes' Taken from Hebrews 11 is an interesting study. We invite you to come and join us.
