The Brownsboro VFD Annual BBQ Dinner will be held Sat., June 16, 11am- 2pm, at Faith Baptist Church, (next door to fire house), on Hwy. 31, in Brownsboro. Donations of pies, cakes, or cookies will be a great help. Adults are $8, and children $5. Additional donations are and will be greatly appreciated.

Lake Palestine United Methodist Church invites all children (K-6) to this years VBS from JUNE 25-29. Join us as Sky Scouts and enjoy the world of Hot Air Ballooning as we learn to soar to new heights with God. The Chandler Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 5th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Sat., June 16, at the Echo Creek Country Club, on FM 317, to provide a $1,000 college scholarship to a BHS graduating senior. Lunch will be served at 11:30am, with a shot gun start at 1pm. Teams consist of 4 players, $50 per player, or $200 per team. $5 per Mulligan (limit 4 per team) Hole sponsorships are available for area businesses. The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. The Bread of Life Distribution (BOLD) of food takes place the third Saturday of the month and will be on Sat., June 16, 8am-5pm, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro for those in the Brownsboro, Murchison and Moore Station area.
