Make It and Take It Crafting Success

Ben Wheeler Crafters had two Make-It and Take-It Crafting sessions so far in June. The first was an appliqued quilted potato baker, great gift idea for Christmas, and then A Scrapbook Page for Crafters, children and grandchildren. What fun! If you missed them, you missed a lot.

Third Thursday, June 21, knitting and crocheting. We will continue to experiment with the slipper patterns and decide on future needlework projects. Amazing what you can do when you have each other for encouragement, teaching and motivation! We will ask each crafter to bring 5 copies of a favorite dishcloth pattern - crochet and/or knit. Again, we're looking for Christmas giving ideas. This is a sack lunch day.

Fourth Thursday, June 28 will be General Crafting day. We have had to change up our calendar this month to accommodate vacations, etc. Again, children over 6 are invited. The project will be angels and trees. Call Terri at 903-852-7666 or Nancy at 903-833- 5329 for supply lists or fees. This is a covered dish day. Share recipes.

First Thursday, July 5th, will be a free sewing and quilting or any other crafting day. With the holiday, it is doubtful that attendance will be worth a program. Just come, if you can, bring a sack lunch and drink and work on anything. Call Nancy, 903-833-5329 for other details.

It's not just about crafting, but fellowshipping and honoring each other. We celebrate birthdays! Bring something to work on, a UFP, a recipe to share, and a sack lunch and drink or covered dish and drink. We are all pleasantly surprised at the progress we each are making in our crafting endeavors! We are learning a lot from each other. Our numbers grow every week. Crafters meet every Thursday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ben Wheeler Methodist Church in downtown Ben Wheeler next to the Fire Station on FM 858. Open to the public.
