McLean 65th Anniversary

Nettie Jo & Saint McLean
W.E. "Saint" and Nettie Jo McLean will be honored by their children at a reception on Sunday, July 1, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Brownsboro United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. They are known to many as "Pa" and "Nana." All family and friends are invited to attend.

Saint married Nettie Jo Perry on July 11, 1942 in Brownsboro, Texas. They were both born and raised here and have lived their entire life within one mile of their birth place.

Saint and Nettie Jo are members of the First United Methodist Church where they have served on most committees. They have both been Sunday School teachers and MYF sponsors. Saint has served on the Brownsboro ISD School Board, been the City Mayor and also a County Commissioner. Nettie Jo served on the City Council for 9 years and was Mayor for two terms.

Saint worked for Lone Star Gas and has had several businesses. He operated a full service Filling Station, was a full time mechanic and had an inspection station. He worked in construction and laid pipe lines. Also, he and Nettie Jo owned and operated McLean's Salvage Grocery. Still not retired at age 85, he is currently raising watermelons and mowing lawns.

Nettie Jo worked at the tomato sheds in town, at the grocery store and the variety store. She was a clerk at the local Post Office. She also worked as a waitress in many of the restaurants in town. She is retired from Trane (GE) after 28 years.

Saint and Nettie Jo have four children: Ronnie and Lynn McLean of Brownsboro, Pattie and Tom Ball of Lubbock, Dannie and Leslie McLean of Brownsboro and Don and Carol Mayfield of Brownsboro. They have 12 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreat grandchildren.

Again, all family and friends are invited to share this occasion on Sunday, July 1st. NO gifts, please.
