William George Ellis

Services for William George Ellis, 81, Chandler, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home chapel, Tyler, with the Revs. Marvin Cole and Sam Boyd officiating.

Burial was in Jennings Mountain Cemetery in Brownsboro.

Mr. Ellis died June 25, 2007 in Tyler.

He was born January 31, 1926, in Chandler to G. L. Corbett and Alice Williams Ellis and had lived most of his life there. He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II and was a farmer and owner/operator of Ellis & Ellis Grocery in Chandler. He attended First Baptist Church, Brownsboro.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Molly Barton Ellis, Chandler; sons, Coy Ellis and Ruben Ellis, both of Chandler; sisters, Juanita Reagan, Marita Boyd and Geraldine Ellis, all of Chandler; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Larry Powell, Charles Cade, Mark Hockman, Lex Glaze, Lee Glaze and Jerry Gaiser.
