Lions are men and women who take the motto "We Serve" seriously by volunteering their time to humani- tarian causes.

By raising funds in numerous ways Lions strive to help those in need wherever need exists.

Since 1925 when Helen Keller challenged the worldwide organization to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness," Lions have provided assistance to the blind and visually impaired all over the world.

Today Lions Clubs are active in more than 180 countries, with more than one million members. They participate in numerous activities emphasizing diabetes awareness, education and research; work with mentally and physically impaired; support environmental issues; community welfare; international understanding; and numerous types of youth programs.

The Chandler Lions Club sponsors the White Cane collection for the visually impaired; blood drives for local blood banks; recycling of eyeglasses; collection of aluminum cans; pancake suppers, raffles and numerous other projects.

The Chandler Lions Club meets at 6:30PM on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Chandler Community Center.

Membership is open to all residents of the area. Join us at any meeting to enjoy a nice meal and good fellowship or contact any officer for further information about how "We Serve."
