Ben Wheeler Community Crafters news

Last Thursday was another great success with crafters and children making angels from glass lampshades. Jo Pierce led the group in assembly and bow-making techniques. Joyce Tank demonstrated crocheted angel hair.

July plans are as follows:

Thursday, July 5th is cancelled due to the holidays.

Thursday, July 12th is Scrapbooking with Ginger. The project is a bookmark and a page. There is a $5.00 fee for supplies. Bring adhesive, scissors and trimmer. Call Ginger Featherston at 903- 852-7775 for other details. Children over 6 years of age are invited. Bring a sack lunch and drink.

Thursday, July 19th is General Crafting with Terri. The project is a "Christ is the Center of the Home" plaque. Call Terri Bevans for fee and supplies information at 903-852- 7666. Bring a vegetable or fruit or cheese plate to share and a beverage for yourself.

Thursday, July 26th is Crochet and Knit with Bobbie and Queta. The project will be decorating flip-flops. Bring flip-flops, one skein of Lion Brand Fun Fur to match (now available at Wal-Mart for $2.49), size G crochet hook, yarn needle and scissors. Children over 6 are invited to participate. We have instruc- tions for Kids' No Crochet Flip Flop Decorating. A pair of Flip Flops, 1 skein of coordinating fun fur, scissors and fabric glue are needed for this kid friendly project. Thursday, August 2nd is Sewing and Quilting with Nancy. The project will be a book cover and/or carrying portfolio made from purchased placemats. Samples of other items made from purchased hot pads will be available. A sewing machine will be set up to use. Bring 2 purchased placemats of your choice and 2 yards of coordinating round cording for handles (all available at Wal- Mart). Placemats are available at Dollar General. Crafters meet every Thursday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ben Wheeler Methodist Church in downtown Ben Wheeler next to the Fire Station on FM 858. There is a project or program planned for every Thursday. There are some changes in subject days due to availability of special speakers and programs. Check your newspaper at least once a month for details or call any of the hostesses listed above.
