A retirement party for former BIS principal Billy Beasley will be held on Friday, July 13 in the Brownsboro Administration office from 10am-12pm.

The annual Red Hill Cemetery memorial service will be held at the cemetery on Saturday, July 15 at 11am. Lunch will be a covered dish affair.

MOVIE NIGHT - Lake Palestine United Methodist Church would like to invite the community to come Saturday, July 21st and see Night at the Museum. Admission is free and concessions will be sold. Doors open at 6:30. LPUMC is located on 315 S on the lake. Call 903-849- 2379 for more information.

Faith Baptist Church of Brownsboro will discontinue their Tuesday senior luncheons to take a break for the summer. The luncheons will resume in the fall.

The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. The Bread of Life Distribution (BOLD) of food takes place the third Saturday of the month and will be on Sat., July 21, 8am-5pm, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro for those in the Brownsboro, Murchison and Moore Station area. The Tyler Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 932, meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at Traditions Restaurant, on South Broadway, at 1900 hours.
