Grady Floyd Hardin Sr.

Services for Grady Floyd Hardin Sr., 75, Chandler were held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial was Tuesday, July 10, at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Mr. Hardin died July 5, 2007, in Tyler.

He was born Nov. 27, 1931, in Fairmont, NC, to the late Elbert and Zana Hardin, and lived in the Chandler area since 1982. He retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years service, having served in Korean War and Vietnam War. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Medal - 1 Star, Combat Air Crew Insignia - 3 Stars, Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnamese Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal w/device, Vietnamese Service Medal w/5 Stars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal w/5 Stars, and numerous other Good Conduct Medals. He was a member of Marine Corps League. He was preceded in death by daughter, Diane Hardin; brother, Hoke Hardin; and sisters, Sarah and Margaret Anderson.

Survivors include sons, Grady Floyd Hardin Jr., Saginaw, David and Richard Hardin, both of Charleston, S.C., Jimmy Hardin, Longview, and Tim Hardin, Midlothian; daughter, Nancy Lee, Charleston, SC; brothers, Ray Hardin, Big Spring, Carlton Hardin, Atlanta, Ga., and Frank Hardin, Houston; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of close friends.
