Dear Citizens of Henderson County, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ray Nutt. I have decided to run for Sheriff of Henderson County in the upcoming Republican Primary in the sheriff's election in 2008. I have a total of thirty-seven (37) years of law enforcement experience, seventeen (17) of these years, dedicated to the Citizens of Henderson County. I retired as a Texas Ranger Sergeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety, and continued my law enforcement career with the Henderson County District Attorney's office as an Investigator and Supervisor of Support Staff. I transferred to the Henderson County Sheriff's Department as an Investigator where I retired in 2005. I am a United States Army Veteran. I currently hold a Master Peace Officer's License with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer's Standards and Education. I have fifty-one (51) college credit hours in Criminal Justice and related courses, and over three thousand five hundred (3500) hours in education and law enforcement training. I am a member of the First Baptist Church in Murchison, Texas. I believe I have the experience and qualifications to be your next Sheriff and would appreciate your support and your vote. I will be a working sheriff and lead by example. I will work hard to be the best Sheriff Henderson County has ever had. If elected, one of the top priorities of the sheriff's department will be to reduce the drug problems in Henderson County, Texas. If we cut the drug problem in Henderson County, it will reduce the thefts and burglaries in Henderson County. I would appreciate your support and any contributions will be appreciated. "Elect a proven law enforcement officer, one that also has administrative abilities." Sincerely, Ray Nutt |
