TVCC sets dates for freshman orientation programs

Trinity Valley Community College is now accepting registration forms for freshman orientation.

The orientation programs are designed to give new students a first-hand look at college life. The program helps incoming freshmen familiar- ize themselves with student personnel services, physical campus features and student activities.

In addition to receiving an overall view of the TVCC campuses, students will receive information on costs, academics, college policies and facilities.

College employees will aid students with academic and career counseling and also help them register for fall classes.

Two freshman programs will be hosted on the Athens campus. Session I will be held July 26. The reservation deadline date for the first session is July 12. Session II will be held Aug. 9 with a reservation deadline date of July 26.

Cost for orientation at the Athens campus will be $20. The fee includes a luncheon, snacks, and program materials. For further information on orientation in Athens, contact 903-675-6350.

TVCC's Terrell campus will host orientation Aug. 7. Aug. 1 is the application deadline for the Terrell session. For more information on the Terrell session, contact 972- 563-9573.

TVCC-Palestine has set Aug. 7 as its orientation date. Aug. 1 is the deadline to apply. For further information on this program, contact 903- 729-0256.

There is no cost for orientation at either the Palestine or the Terrell campus.

Any student planning to seek an associate's degree must have taken the THEA test before attending the orientation program. Students who plan to seek a certification instead of a degree are not required to take the THEA. Contact 903-675- 6385 for testing information.
