Faith Baptist Chandler
by Melva Allison

Bro. David brought an inspiring message Sunday morning based on 2 Corinthians 4:16. At some point in every Christian's life, it is easy to become discouraged when trouble surrounds us, and we may want to quit serving the Lord. The scripture tells us not to lose heart and quit. We are not to let fatigue, pain, or criticism force us to quit. We can always depend on the Holy Spirit to give inner strength to renew commitment to serving Christ. The evening message was based on "The Beatitudes."

Vacation Bible School was a great success. Thanks to all who worked, especially Jennifer Bench who served as VBS director, and Becky Darst who led the worship rally. The chilby dren contributed almost $550 to be given to Breckenridge Village. A contest was held between the boys and girls to see who could contribute the most money, and a representative from the losing team had to transport worms from one plate to another. The boys lost, and Kyle Yarbrough was a great sport and came through on the boy's end of the agreement. Everyone had lots of fun, learned about what the Bible teaches about God and Jesus, and most importantly, 27 decisions were made for Christ.

The Top of the Hill gang enjoyed lunch and Blue Bell Ice Cream last Friday at Daniel Boone's Beans & Burgers. Those attending were Jerry and Joyce Houston, Stephen and Connie Giles, Paul and Betty Peavy, Jack and Maxine Barnes, Ginny and John Dabbs, Nita and Warren LeMaster. Next month the Gang will be meeting at The Cracker Barrel in Lindale.

Our youth and sponsors will be leaving next Sunday immediately following the morning worship service to attend youth camp at Glorietta, New Mexico next week. Remember them in your prayers. Bro. David will be going as a sponsor, so there will be a change in the times for Sunday School and worship for Sunday, July 22, only. Sunday school will begin at 9:30, and the morning worship at 10:00. The service will conclude at 11:00.

A big thank you to Lou Turner and those who helped him for installing new floors in the sanctuary foyer. The floor looks great.
