Chandler Brownsboro Bears Youth Football will be having open registration on Thursday July the 19th, @ the Refuel Teen Center In Brownsboro(next to El Presidente Restaurant) The time will be 5:30-7:00. At 7:00 at the Teen Center we will be having our first Annual Coaches Clinic. If you would like to be a coach or would just like to volunteer Please plan to attend. The Bread of Life Distribution (BOLD) of food takes place the third Saturday of the month and will be on Sat., July 21, 8am-5pm, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro for those in the Brownsboro, Murchison and Moore Station area. The Tyler-Lone Star Chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials is looking for anyone interested in officiating Junior High and High School football games in the East Texas area. The Opelika Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group are having a CAR WASH. Saturday July 21, 2007. 9:00- 1:00pm. At the Brookshires Parking Lot in Athens. Proceeds to help send youth to camp.

Come take the plunge! Brownsboro United Methodist Church is hosting a VBS kickoff with a water theme fun day. Saturday July 28 10:00am- 2:00pm. Come beat the heat with water slides, temporary tattoos, and hot dogs and drinks. Free to the public and register your kids, 4yr old-6th grade, for VBS.

The Angel Food Ministry, under the direction of Dale and Mary Ann Whisenhunt at Lake Palestine United Methodist Church would like to remind the community that the next orders for food will be taken on August 8th from 2-6 PM at the church on 315 S. located at the second bridge on Lake Palestine. $50-$75 worth of food can be purchased for $25. It is quality food comparable to anything purchased at the grocery store. Nothing is needed to purchase this food except a name and address. Pick-up will be at the church on August 25th at 11 AM. Please bring a medium sized box to put the food in. Food stamps can be used to purchase this food.

The Second Annual Bluegrass Gospel weekend will be held Saturday, July 21 at 6pm at the Gospel Music Hall, 6513 HWY-19 S., Athens. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be picked up in Athens at First State Bank and All About Me Spa and in Tyler at the Scroll and Malakoff Pharmacy. The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. The Tyler Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 932, meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at Traditions Restaurant, on South Broadway, at 1900 hours. All Vietnam and Vietnam era veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) between 2/28/60 and 5/7/75 (in-country Vietnam) or between 8/5/64 and 5/7/75 (for Vietnam era Veterans), and their spouses, are invited to come join us.
