Union Hill Baptist
by Mickey Bigbie

The Sunday morning service was an especially wonderful one as Brother Bill took his message from First Corinthians, the 13th chapter and spoke to us about love. It was an awesome message, just what we needed. Brother Stephen Vestal was again a welcomed visitor, leading the music and then, himself, offering an inspiring message as he sang, "...by His wounds, we are here..." It was just a tremendous service.

First of all, let me give you a few corrections. The Fifth Sunday Community Church Service will be held on Sunday evening, July 29th at Calvary Baptist Church, starting at 6:00 p.m. You are all encouraged to attend, as this is always a great time to get together and worship with your friends from other area churches. There is always a marvelous message and a joyful time of fellowship. Don't miss it!

The second correction is of major importance to all who wish to attend the monthly meeting of the Wheels of Mercy Motorcycle Ministry. The monthly meetings are still being held at 3:30 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month but will now be held at Union Hill Baptist Church. We still need group leaders whose responsibilities will be to lead the children from one activity to another. If you have not signed up yet, you still have time to do so and remember, there will be training for the VBS workers on Monday, July 30th at 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 1st, following the evening service. Workers, you must attend one of the training sessions. Many thanks to our dynamic Ms. Diana for furnishing this information. The kids love her and no wonder. She pours out her heart and soul for them and spends hours and hours making VBS a life-changing experience for each child. She and her team are undeniably a tremendous blessing to all.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank Glenda Wallace for her dedication and hard work in providing us with the monthly Newsletter. It's always full of wonderful information about our church and I eagerly pass it on to those of you who do not get the Newsletter. As with everything she undertakes, Glenda does a fantastic job with the Newsletter and, her readers certainly appreciate the information. Many, many thanks, not only to Glenda, but to all of the very special staff we have at Union Hill. They're all super!
