Brownsboro FFA Chapter officers attended the 79th annual State FFA Convention in Corpus Christi, July 10-13, 2007. While in attendance the Brownsboro FFA chapter was very well represented. The FFA chapter received numerous awards along with some of its top students.

Five of the chapter's students applied for, and received, their Lone Star Farmers Degrees on Tuesday, which is the highest degree that a student can receive at the State Level. Those students receiving their Lone Stars were Rusty Lawrence, Emily Bynum, Chase Beam, Matt Smith, and Tonya Kiker.

Also during the week the Brownsboro FFA Chapter was recognized on several different levels. The chapter was recognized for being the 5th largest chapter in the state of Texas, with 331 members enrolled. The chapter received a silver star on the Golden Horizon Award in which the chapter was evaluated on its participation in various contests and competitions throughout the year. The chapter was also recognized with the Superior Chapter award in a multiple teacher department for being one of the best chapters in the state.

Finally Brownsboro received a gold star on the National Chapter Award and will advance to the National level. The national chapter award is based on the chapter involvement in stock shows, Leadership Development Events, Fundraisers, and community involvement throughout the year.
