`Amnesty Month'
Chandler PD urges those with warrants to come pay; stay out of jail

Come on in, all of you who are tired of hiding from your misdemeanor warrants.

The Chandler Police Department announces that they will conduct amnesty month August 1-31.

Police warn that those who don't, officers will seek out and arrest individuals with outstanding municipal court warrants at their homes and businesses. However, we encourage anyone with outstanding warrants to clear their warrants before police begin making visits to their home or office.

At the Municipal Court in Chandler, hundreds of fines and warrants wait to be settled. The city has given the people named in these warrants to the end of August to pay their fines without the fear of being arrested.

The amnesty does not forgive any warrant obligation; instead, it invites offenders to come in and make arrangements to pay warrant without fear of incarceration.

Anyone wanting to resolve their warrants without fear of being arrested can go to the police department at 811 Hwy 31 East between the hours of 8am to 7pm or call 903-849-6853.
