East Texas Genealogical Society to discuss websites East Texas Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting on Saturday, August 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Tyler Public Library in the Taylor Auditorium featuring Lela Evans. Ms. Evans will present a program called "Data Link - Little Known Websites." Learn how to find, evaluate, and cite websites with real information to help in the search for your ancestors. Information is added every day that may pertain to your family, but it won't help if you don't know where to find it. Find out how to locate information that isn't indexed by search engines, and even better, discover how to get some information to come to you. Lela Evans has been engaged in genealogical research since her high school days. She has served as county coordinator for several counties in the USGenWeb since 1998. Currently, she is coordinator for Palo Pinto and Parker Counties in the TXGenWeb Project, as well as co-coordinator for Tallahatchie County MSGenWeb. In addition she has served as the orphan county director and mentor director for the TXGenWeb Project and presently serves as the Event Coordinator. Lela is a member of the Dallas Genealogical Society, East Parker County Genealogical Society, Lancaster Genealogical Society, and the Association of Professional Genealogists. Currently, Lela is president of the Lancaster Genealogical Society and is genealogy librarian at the Lancaster library. Approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the regular program and refreshments, the Computer Interest Group of the East Texas Genealogical Society will meet with Janet Cook who will present a program on "Legacy Genealogy Software Program."
