Redin Burt, Jr.
Mr. Burt died July 24, 2007 in Tyler. He was born November 11, 1921 in Hillsboro, Texas and lived in the Chandler area for spproximately 10 years. He was a member of Leagueville Baptist Church and was a self-employed welder. He was a 50-year member of Victoria Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF&AM, and served in the Navy Reserve (Sea Bees) during World War II. Preceding him in death were his parents, Redin Burt, Sr. and Altie Lackey Burt; brothers, Herbert Burt and Ovyd Burt; sisters Blanche Lee Morgan, Sylvia Griffin, Verda Mae Morgan and Gwendolyn Godby. Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Rhoena Joyce Burt, Chandler; and sister, Madelyn Roden of Duncanville, Texas. Pallbearers were Derl Adair, Tim Parker, Max Jordan, Craig Dearing, James Russell, and Clint Westbrook. Nephews were honorary pallbearers. If desired, memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice of Tyler (Serenity House). |
