Martin Springs Baptist
by Jonnie Hopson

Greetings and God's blessings from "The Little Church with the Big Smile."

We had about 80 worshipers in our church Sunday. Bro. Russell Kuhns' message was "On the Edge," from Genesis 19:24-27.

Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Daily and his father, Oscar Daily recently returned from a trip to New Mexico. They went fourwheeling.

Our Father and Mother of the year are Kenneth and Carolyn Fender. They are the parents of two daughters.

We have been doing some remodeling at church. The ladies have redone the nursery; it is so bright and nice. We would love to have your infant or toddler to come. There are four nursery advisors and always volunteers, every Sunday.

Also, Mrs. Jean VanArman has made new drapes for the baptistery. They are so nice and colorful. Thank you, Jean!

We had another re-dedication Sunday. The Lord can really work all kinds of wonders.

The youth are planning a late August retreat at Sky Ranch. More details later as it gets closer. As always our Youth Director, Ricky Daily is awesome.

Our visitors are always a nice addition on Sundays. Please come back. We have classes for every age group.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Luker have as their guest their granddaughter. Aren't grands super?

The families of Ruby Bishop, William Pillow and Jeanette Davis have our prayers during their time of loss.

Also, pray for those Noonday Fire Fighters that lost their lives last week. They died doing what they were called to do.

Last week's happy birthday wishes go to Jackie Daily, Jonnie Hopson and Kristian Farrington.

Continued prayers are asked for our shut-ins and sick. Also all the military that are fighting to keep us free.

The old yellow school bus will be coming before long. Keep the teachers and students uplifted in prayer as they start a long hard year.

Bro. and Mrs. David Tidmore spent several days at the lake recently. Mr. and Mrs. Layne Staggs joined them one night. Guess who is bragging about being the only one that caught a fish . . . Bro. David.
