Brownsboro Band Car Wash Saturday, August 11 from 9am-3pm at 1st State Bank in Brownsboro and Citizens State Bank in Chandler.

6th Annual Chandler 5K Run / Walk - Saturday August 18, 7:30am at First United Methodist Church in Chandler. Registration is $12 through Friday Aug. 10, and $15 after Aug. 10. Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall winners and the first place male and female winners in each of eleven age groups. Registration forms can be picked up at various businesses in Chandler. All proceeds from this event benefit God's Open Hands in Chandler. Movie Night at Lake Palestine United Methodist Church on 315 S is Saturday, August 11th. This months movie is Extreme Days. We will be opening the doors at 6:30 and starting the movie at 7:00. Admission is FREE and all in the community are invited. We encourage all to bring your families. The youth will be selling concessions again. Call 903-849- 2379 with any questions. The 10th Anniversary Cattle Baron's Ball planning meeting will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 9 at the Holiday Inn Express in Athens. The Ball is scheduled for October 6 at the Joslin Ranch in Athens. Volunteers are still needed and invited to attend this meeting. BHS Season football tickets will go on sale Monday, August 13 through Friday August 24 to last year's season ticket holders. On Monday, August 27, they will go on sale to the public. The cost is $20 per seat for 5 home games. Tickets may be purchased at the Administration Bldg., Mon-Thurs., 8am-4pm and Friday from 8am-3:30pm. For more info call Brenda at 903-852-3701, ext1012.

The Quilters Guild of East Texas will hold their monthly meetings on Thursday, August 9. The day meeting will be at the Tyler Area Senior Center at 9:30am while the night meeting will be at A Nimble Thimble at 7pm. For more information call 903-849- 6515.

The CBACC August luncheons will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 9 at El Presidente in Brownsboro and Thursday, August 23 at San Pedro's in Chandler. To reserve your spot call Bertha at 903-849-5930.

Brownsboro First Assembly of God will hold their annual homecoming on Sunday, August 12 starting at 10:30am. A meal will follow the service and old fashion singing will start at 1pm.

KCB will be meeting on Thursday, August 16, 7pm, in the Chandler Community Center. September 8 will be the annual KCB garage sale.

There will be a retirement reception for Billy Earl Beasley, Sr., former principal of BIS on Saturday, August 18 at 4pm in the Chandler Community Center.

Brownsboro Junior High will hold an open house on Thursday, August 23 from 6:30pm-8pm. Come meet the teachers, grab your students schedule and get ready for a successful new year.

Brownsboro Intermediate School's "meet the teacher night" is scheduled for Tuesday, August 21 from 6-7pm.

AWANA Open House, Saturday, August 24 at Concord Baptist Church, FM-2010, Chandler. From 11am-3pm children ages 3 thru 6th grade are encouraged to come and register for the fall AWANA program. Call 903-849-6892 for more information.

Edom VFD Benefit Auction, Saturday, August 25 at Edom City Limits. BBQ starts at 5pm, auction starts at 6pm. Proceeds benefit a new fire station. To donate items call Tammy 903-852-6642.

The First day of school is Monday, August 27.

Westlake Shores Church of Christ welcomes Don Norwood to the congregation that meets at 2111 FM-315 South of Chandler. We invite everyone to come and let us study the Bible together.

The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.
