Brooks Carlton Fowler

Memorial services for Brooks Carlton Fowler, Brownsboro, were held Tuesday, at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel, Tyler.

Mr. Fowler died July 30, 2007 in Tyler.

He was born April 5, 1936, in Boston to the late Lewis Clemon "Dude" and Bernice Raye Foster Fowler. He graduated from Texarkana High School, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington and North Texas State University, and his doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin.

He served in the Texas National Guard, and was an engineer for Tracor in Austin, McDonnell Douglas and Interstate Electronics in California, and Texas Instruments and E-Systems in Dallas. He held two patents in digital signal processing. He was a Baptist, and was preceded in death by brother, Bruce Wayne Fowler, and niece, Stephanie Allyson Fowler.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Martha Carolyn Shultz Fowler, Brownsboro; one nephew; and other relatives.

Honorary pallbearers were Chester Retz, Charles Hayes and Dwain Tedford.

If desired, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society; American Lung Association; or charity of choice.
