5K Fun Run this Saturday

CHANDLER, TX - Trinity Mother Frances SportsCARE's Chandler 5K Fun Run & Walk is scheduled for this Saturday August 18, at 7:30 a.m., with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Chandler First United Methodist Church.

This is the sixth year for the event, which draws about 150 runners from all over East Texas.

The race is open to all age groups with proceeds benefiting God's Open Hands, a local organization that provides food, clothing and medical care for Chandler and Brownsboro area citizens.

Last year the race generated over $2,000 for the charity. The cost to enter the race is $15. Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall winners.
