Volentine named player of the year

He dominated the Ark-La-Tex Junior Golf tour all season long and as a result Brownsboro's Trey Volentine was named the 2007 Boys 12-13 Player of the year.

During the final tournament of the season, the Tournament of Champions, Volentine shot a 77 to capture first place by two strokes over Connor Barbe of Longview. The Tournament was held at Pinecrest CC in Longview.

Prior to the Tournament of Champions victory, Volentine teamed up with his grandfather, Tony Volentine, to win the Shallow Creek Tournament with a score of 67. Also finishing in first place in the Shallow Creek Tournament was Jared and Jason Bragdon with a score of 33 in the Boys 10-11 year old division.
