BISD edits school calendar

During the regular scheduled Brownsboro Independent School Board meeting last Monday night the Board approved a revision of the 2007-08 school calendar.

The Board changed the bad weather day scheduled in April from Monday, April 28 to Friday, April 18.

State testing days were moved from February 19-22 to March 4-7. In April the testing dates changed from 15-18 to April 28 through May 2.

The Board also addressed the vacancy on the Board created by the resignation of John Hartsfield. No action was taken on the one-year remaining on the term but the Board is considering one of three options. Those options are a special election, an appointment or leave the position vacant.

In need of a serious upgrade the Drama Department was approved to build a new lighting/sound booth closer to the ground in the theater. Tommy Williams Drywall of Tyler will handle the project with an estimated cost of $29,500.

BISD holds their monthly school board meetings the second Monday of every month in the Brownsboro Administration Building beginning at 7:00pm.
