TVCC celebrates commencement Trinity Valley Community College awarded degrees to 113 students Friday during the college's summer graduation ceremony. In addition to conferring the degrees, the college recognized students who achieved special honors. One student, Mark Daniel Blackmon of Elkhart, was recognized for graduating with highest honors distinction. In order to be honored as a highest honors graduate, a student must maintain a 4.0 GPA in all courses. Other students receiving special recognition were those who achieved high honors for maintaining a 3.8 GPA. Two students in Friday's graduating class, Lawrence Holt of Mabank and Charlotte Smith of Kemp, earned the high honors distinction. Students who graduated with honors - meaning they maintained a 3.5 GPA in all courses - were also honored.
