Russell H. Thedford

Services for Russell H. Thedford, 83, Chandler, formerly of Tyler and Edom, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with Johnny Anders officiating.

Burial followed in the Edom Cemetery.

Mr. Thedford died August 20, 2007, at Hospice Homeplace.

He was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ. He had retired from Ferro Corp. after 27 years and was an area homebuilder for 18 years. He graduated from Van High School and Henderson County Jr. College and was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean Cauthron Thedford, Chandler; daughter, Sandra Kurtz, Tyler; son, David Russell Thedford, Lindale; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Kurtz, Chad Kurtz, Russ Thedford, Cliff Thedford, Scott Easley and Terry Thedford.

Honorary pallbearers were Buck Nowell, Avery Womble, Jack Stringer, Eddie Reagan, Lewis Haynes, Tommy Gilbreath, and J.M. Boyd.
