Warren, Hankla earn first place during annual 5k Fun Run

The weather once again cooperated for the 6th Annual Chandler 5K Run & Walk held this past Saturday Aug. 18th at First United Methodist Church in Chandler.

The event is organized Trinity Mother Frances SportsCARE and benefits God's Open Hands, a charity that provides food, clothing and medical care for Chandler and Brownsboro area citizens.

This year 114 people participated in the event that offers a challenging course through the streets of Chandler. Runners and Walkers came out from all over east Texas and as far away as Dallas, Sulphur Springs, and Lufkin to compete. Awards were given in 11 age groups in addition to the overall winners.
